Cunard Cruise 2012
Trip Day 38
Friday, April 27th
The Final Day!
Southampton, England to Home

Early this morning the ship arrives in its home port of Southampton, England which the ship left 107 days ago on this cruise.

The time in England is 5 hours ahead of home and is in what is known as Greenwich Mean Time or GMT. and appears to be the same as Lisbon. By the time I get there they will be on BST which stands for British Summer Time which, as in most places, one gains an hour for "summer (or daylight) time" (as we do) so the difference will still be 5 hours from home but one hour later than GMT or the proper name Coordinated Universal Time which is usually shorted to UTC.

At some point this morning I will disembark from the ship. I will then get on a motor coach heading to Heathrow Airport near London (about 2 hours away). Once there at Terminal 3 I will check in at Air Canada for flight AC849 to Toronto that leaves at 3:00 p.m. and arrives at 5:55pm. It looks like almost 3 three hours but it is really almost 8 with the time difference.

After doing all the customs and immigration formalities I will be picked up by AirLink and returned home probably arriving sometime between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m..

So, this is the plan for this, the final day, of this trip.
